How to Get Hunter Education Certified in Ohio
Ohio offers a streamlined path to hunter education certification. Hunters age 17 and older can complete a 3-hour online-only course approved by the Ohio Division of Wildlife (ODW). Younger hunters ages 12-16 may need to attend a field day depending on their course provider.
Certification Options
- Ages 17+: Complete the full course online (approximately 3 hours). No field day required.
- Ages 12-16: Complete the online portion, then check with your provider about field day requirements
- Minimum age: 12 years old
